Conor Johnston

Conor is a policy and community relations expert and small business owner.

He served for over four years as aide and Chief of Staff to then-President of the SF Board of Supervisors London Breed and then as a policy and strategy advisor to her 2018 campaign for Mayor. 

Conor has helped write and pass legislation on clean energy, toxics and waste reduction (including Bay cleanup and the strongest Styrofoam ban in the country), public safety, small business protection, affordable housing, and transportation improvements.

He is co-owner of the first Social Equity cannabis dispensary in San Francisco, Berner’s on Haight in the Haight-Ashbury, as well as the nearby Harborside social equity dispensary, and three Cookies stores opening soon in Illinois.

Conor previously ran operations and sales for two startups in San Francisco and a biofuel production coop in Sausalito.  

He is a board member of Cal Night, a statewide nonprofit advocating for nightlife and cannabis; an advisory board member of Equality California, the largest statewide LGBTQ advocacy organization in the country; and a former longtime board member of City Youth Now, a nonprofit supporting local youth in foster care and juvenile justice.
